New SEND unit for Elveden CofE Primary Academy approved
Plans to expand a primary school's special education provision by 18 places through a new educational unit have been approved.
On the agenda, there was a discussion of "significant changes" at Elveden CofE Primary Academy, run by the Elveden Schools Trust.
The application includes the addition of a special educational needs unit to offer places for 18 pupils aged four to seven years at the London Road school.
The board had decided to approve this application and let the academy take in more students with special needs.
Another item to get approval from the board was a "retrospective application" for Kennett Primary School on the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border to expand its physical capacity by 105 places.
Other approvals in the meeting, which covers the East of England area, include plans for Attleborough Primary School and Rosecroft Primary School, both in Norfolk, to convert and become an academy and join Sapientia Education Trust.
